Ford dealerships in South Africa faced a common challenge: customers weren’t always booking their vehicle services on time. Missed services not only created risk for customers but also meant dealerships were losing out on a key touchpoint to maintain customer relationships. Traditional outreach methods, such as phone calls, were often disruptive and easy for busy people to ignore.
Our Task :
We launched Hannah, a WhatsApp-only AI agent, to improve service booking rates and keep customer engagement high. Her role was to:
Reach out to all customers due for a service via WhatsApp, a channel that fits seamlessly into people’s busy lives.
Remind customers that their service was included in their motor plan.
Confirm key details, such as vehicle mileage, to ensure the booking was correct.
Schedule the service appointment and, where relevant, arrange a complimentary lift service to make the experience more convenient.
Challenge :
Getting customers to book services proactively had always been a difficult and time-consuming task for dealerships. Hannah solved this by:
Meeting customers where they are — on WhatsApp, where messages can be read and responded to in their own time.
Making the booking process simple, conversational, and frictionless.
Consistently increasing the number of on-time service bookings without adding pressure to dealership staff.
Evolution :
Hannah has proven so effective at driving service bookings that her role is expanding. Beyond after-sales service, she is now being developed into Hannah the car salesman. In her new role, Hannah will:
